Raw Recipe: Just 2 Tablespoons A Day Of A Coconut Yogurt Your Stomach Will Love!

Many ailments are caused by an imbalance in the stomach, it affects every cell in our bodies and our overall health is ruled by it. We live in a toxic world and holding onto toxins is something our stomach loves to do.
Your digestive system absorbs the bad stuff and tries to shield you from it. We absorb toxins from different sources like food, unfiltered water, or from the air we breathe, its hard on our gut. Maintaining the health of your stomach will help ensure a healthy life for you.

A great way to start is by eating probiotic-rich foods. Traditional yogurt is not a health food, and non-dairy alternatives are not a good choice as they are packed with sugar and have little nutrients.

Your stomach needs good bacteria to fight off disease and to function well. Fermented foods are a rich source of good bacteria, Kefir is one good source.

Coconut yogurt recipe:

  • 16 oz coconut meat (if frozen, thawed)
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut kefir
  • 1 capsule dairy-free probiotic
  • Juice from 2 freshly squeezed lemons
  • Juice from 1 freshly squeezed lime
  • 1/2 cup raw coconut water

Use your blender to blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy.
Pour into a glass or a glass jar and cover with cheesecloth or any other breathable fabric. Leave at room temperature overnight, or 12 hours, then refrigerate. Your coconut yogurt is now ready to be enjoyed!
If it looks chunky after sitting overnight blend again until creamy, it should be creamy and have the consistency of yogurt.

Note: While the ideal time it should be left out is 12 hours leaving it for more than 12 hours will give it a different look and taste. If you leave it for 12 hours it will be watery, left for 4 days it will have the texture of Greek yogurt, leaving it out for 5 days will make it so thick that a spoon can stand up in it. If you like variety you can use it in smoothies.

Health benefits:

  • Probiotic-rich: Kefir is a good source of beneficial bacteria which helps you maintain gut health.
  • Protein-rich: Coconut meat is rich in protein which keeps us satiated longer.
  • Dairy-free: You won’t feel gassy and bloated from it.
  • Sugar-free: This recipe has no sugar but a sweet and tangy taste.

The only downside is that the recipe is expensive. You may need 4-7 coconuts depending on how ripe they are and coconuts don’t come cheap. It can be a labor-intensive process to open the coconuts, it requires arm muscle and hard work.
