You probably don’t think that your feet need detoxing, but think about it- your feet are stuffed into hot, sweaty socks and shoes almost every day, for your entire life. While sweat is the body’s natural way of cooling off and getting rid of certain waste products, there’s only so much that sweat can do.
In addition, your feet are a crucial part of your overall health, and they take a literal beating until you finally prop them up or go to bed. If your feet are tired, achy, swollen, or are affected by any number of other ailments, such as nail fungus, then the rest of you is going to feel absolutely miserable.
However, there is a natural detoxification with these detox foot pads that will keep your feet comfortable and happy, as well as the rest of you.
How To Do A Foot Detox
For the majority of people, stinky feet carry a personal and social stigma that is hard to live down. Fortunately, in this case, stinky feet will be a good thing (at least for the duration of the detox), and you don’t have to worry about offending anyone (except maybe your partner). But hey, convince them to detox as well, and the two of you can revel in your mutual foot odor while you do something good for your bodies.
For this Japan-based detox, you will need an onion, some garlic, water, self-stick gauze pads, and socks. First, finely chop the onion and garlic, and set aside. Put some water on to boil, and once it’s boiling, add the chopped onion and garlic. Let it boil for ten minutes, then remove from heat and allow it to cool for twenty minutes. Once the water has cooled, carefully pour the water onto the center of the gauze pads, taking care not to get the sticky part of the pads wet. If you accidentally pour too much water onto the pad, carefully squeeze out any excess. Then apply the pads to the soles of your feet, preferably on the center of your feet, or even on the soft pads located directly beneath your toes, and cover with socks.
What you’re likely to discover the next morning is a pad that is dark with all the toxins that have been removed from your body, especially your lymphatic system. Since the lymphatic system traps germs and other toxins, it’s important to do a periodic detox in order to keep your entire body functioning properly. Once your overnight detox is complete, throw the pads away.
If you see little or nothing on the pads the next morning, don’t be fooled into thinking that you don’t need detoxing. If the pads are still clean the next morning, it means you probably suffer from poor circulation, and your body was unable to successfully activate your circulatory system enough to do a thorough detox. In this case, you can try applying the pads during the daytime when you’re more active, or at least a few hours before bedtime. This will help activate circulation in your feet, which will in turn help the detox pads to work better at pulling the toxins from your body.
